Core & Classroom Instructor Courses

The Core Instructor course is a prerequisite for all AHA Instructor candidates.   Through 20 modules, the course teaches the five general competencies identified by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI).

The Instructor Candidate must also complete a discipline-specific classroom-based instructor course in Basic Life Support (BLS), Heartsaver, ACLS, PALS.

To receive a designation as an AHA Instructor, the candidate must also be successfully monitored by an American Heart Association Training Center Faculty.

This entire process may take 1 - 6 months to complete.
